ABOUT Patrick J Breheny Counselling
About me
As a certified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist with registration from the BACP, I’m Patrick Breheny – a 37 year father of three, a husband, and a dedicated advocate for effective communication in both personal and professional realms.

Born and raised in Manchester, I contribute to my community not only as a counsellor but also as a Recovery Co-ordinator at CGL, a drug and alcohol recovery charity. My work is fuelled by a deep desire to help other to navigate their journey to change, finding immense satisfaction in helping other achieve personal growth and transformation.

01
Humanistic philosophy
My approach
I bring an interested, humanistic approach to therapy – believing in the importance of unconditional positive regard, empathy, and compassion. The therapy space I provide is safe, where everyone possesses the resources and resilience to embrace positive change.
02
Foundation of trust
Building trust is at the core of my counselling. I recognise that exceptional progress occurs when there’s mutual trust and confidence between you and me. Our counselling relationship is built on unconditional positive regard, empathy, and truth. An environment where open dialogue can thrive.
03
Tailored journeys
Specialising in Person-centred Counselling, Transactional Analysis, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, I believe therapy should be tailored to your specific needs and desires. Whether addressing current issues or delving into unresolved childhood situations, I’m here to develop and support your unique journey.
04
Courage for change
I firmly believe in the courage within each individual to more forward meaningfully in therapy. Valuing human connection, I advocate for the utmost respect and acknowledgment of human rights in the therapeutic space. Together, let’s embark on a journey of positive change and self-discovery.
